How do I enter?

In order to participate in the competition and workshops, you must complete the registration form.


Am I eligible to compete?

Saratoga Go! is open to legal residents of the United States who must be 13 years or older.  All corporations or other organizations participating must be legally domiciled in the United States or incorporated in the United States at the time of entry.


How do I win?

In order to be eligible to win a prize, you must address a Smart City initiative.  We will be holding a pitch event at 5:00 p.m., June 21, 2017, where the participants will have a chance to pitch their innovation and potentially win cash or in-kind prizes.


We are an organization. Can we enter?

The entity will not be eligible for Prizes if any of the following is true: 1) Entity has more than 8 employees; 2) Entity has raised more than $500,000 in funding in the last 12 months; or 3) this particular solution has been on the market prior to 2017. All Applicants, however, may be eligible for additional resources, including implementation support, mentorship, and access to a network of potential partners.


What is the time commitment for this competition?

The time commitment is up to you. We do suggest that you attend the Launch event, so you are able to learn more about the competition and meet other participants.


What kind of solutions am I allowed to submit?

Solutions must address Smart City initiatives in order to be eligible for a prize. Solutions may include web apps, mobile apps, data visualization tools, social media platforms, games or connected products considered a component of the "internet of things." 


The competition is called Saratoga Go, should my solution only benefit Saratoga Springs?

No. Participants can submit solutions that would apply to any urban setting. This competition is a follow up on the Smart City Showcase and Roadmap for Saratoga Springs, but the Solutions are not limited to only benefiting Saratoga. 


Is there a limit to how many projects I can submit or participate in?

Individuals can only be participants in one project.  


Do I retain intellectual property ownership?

Yes. All entrants, regardless of winner status, will retain intellectual property ownership of their submissions.


I want to get involved with Saratoga Go, but don't have a project to submit. How else can I contribute to the competition?

There are many ways to get involved with Saratoga Go besides entering the competition. You can sponsor the competition, contribute other resources, serve as a mentor or volunteer, and help promote Saratoga Go! Email us at saratoga.go@nystec.com and let us know how you would like to contribute.
